Handling Ebay Errors

When attempting to push to Ebay, Spark Shipping tries its best to push without any human interaction successfully. However, only sometimes are we able to identify products to the best options that eBay requires. Below are some example errors, which we will continue adding to this list to help identify and resolve.

Fill in eBay Item Specifics Error.

Below are two ways you may encounter this visually via the UI or within job logs for products you are pushing.

Almost always your first error you may encounter when pushing products from your catalog to Ebay will be regarding item specifics. If you visit the individual item and edit the product. You will need to edit these one by one and do some trial and error, but you will see available specifics on the product edit page to fill out. Add those values, if you're unsure of the specific text to insert or guesses aren't working one strategy we found that has worked for many users is to search the exact product title within eBay and utilize the same values inserted on similar listed products.

After you have added all the specifics, save and update the product and give the push another try. If it succeeds good job, if it fails, you may need to view your job logs and the most recent log for a single site product. You can again visit the logs and search for errors to determine the issue that eBay still has with your product pushes.

The item cannot be listed or modified

Important

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to continue your listing. Testers and unboxed items of certain top cosmetic brands aren’t allowed on eBay.

When pushing some products, specific keywords can throw back errors regarding product titles. In the case above shared for a particular product in the niche of fragrances, we encountered an issue that the product title unboxed could not be used. In this case, you would want to adjust the title so long as in compliance with eBays TOS and that should resolve.
